Tonight I had a big chat with my sister Kate (she’s getting married on Saturday – Congratulations!). We were talking about where our lives have taken us, the situations we’ve been in and some of the dramas we’ve faced. Now my Kate is pretty deep, she’s pretty in touch with her feelings and emotions and can be darn insightful when she wants to be.
We got to talking about the way that the same situations, the same people keep cropping up in our lives, you know the toxic people that keep returning in different embodiments. That if you’re not learning from it, then it is just going to keep happening. It doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in it, it’s not going to stop it from happening.
These things will manifest in your life, in your behaviours and they will continue to happen until you deal with it. But if you face it, if you’re honest, then you can put yourself first and you can sustain your own happiness.
So you can pay attention you can realise that the same things keep cropping up and you can change it. Kate spoke about being flexible with her body, taking care of herself, because if you take care of your body then you can take care of your mind. If you can’t do either then you’ll never be able to deal with change.
Sometimes facing things seems more difficult than ignoring them, but chances are they’ll come back anyway, so you might as well just deal with it now.
Be present.
